Simpson Bay, Saint Martin, Thursday, January 29th: as the United States shivered and even Miami was threatened by frost, temperatures were nearing 86°F (30°C) in the heart of the Caribbean, and the sun was ever-present – barely obscured by a few cumulus clouds.
