A Revolution in Recreational Boating!
This imposing catamaran, built using 38% bio-based epoxy resin, 40% recycled PET foam—not to mention flax fiber and cork—stands out for its two inflatable wings supported by telescopic carbon masts, and its 100% renewable energy propulsion systems. There are no generators on board. This technological gamble has already paid off, as the revolutionary ModX has completed a trip around Spain without using any fossil fuels.
On the delivery trip from Brittany around to the South of France, approximately 2,000 kWh were produced – 74% by hydrogeneration and 26% by the 750 square feet (70 m²) of solar panels.
The fully automated wings orient themselves to create the best performance, which is enhanced by a Venturi effect between the two profiles. The after flaps (in gray) angle to provide optimum sail power.
At any time and from any point of sail, you can heave-to by activating the neutral position, which places the wings into the wind.
