While the big in-water boat shows such as Miami, Cannes or Sydney demonstrated their attractiveness last year by combining a plethoric offer and undeniable interest from the public, things are not the same for the indoor shows, some of which look to be struggling.

The most striking example is the “Le Nautic” show in Paris. After 61 editions, the 2022 event was an undeniable failure: when the organizers announced 700 boats, our colleagues from Bateaux.com magazine counted just 273, and that included jetskis and kayaks. The future of the Paris show is now so compromised that we will only learn in March if the event will continue or not, and if so, under what format and when. The other major events far from the sea all seem to be experiencing difficulties, to varying degrees. Given that order books remain full, ever larger boats (making them more expensive…
