This is an article we wish we didn’t have to write. We obviously hope it’s the last one. But Multihulls World has a duty to inform its readers about what is happening in the world of ocean cruising, however difficult it may be. As the winter season dawns in the Caribbean and summer in the southern hemisphere, we take stock of the situation, geographical area by sailing region: we’re not done with COVID-19 yet. Between border closures, restrictions and requirements, the constraints are diverse and varied - and total freedom is the exception!

To begin with and more important than ever, before any major crossing, it is strongly recommended that all crew members undergo a COVID-19 screening test before departure and take all the usual precautions until departure day. Indeed, a COVID case that occurs offshore could quickly become problematic, even dramatic.
