Built using the DFi® filament membrane technology developed by the La Rochelle-based sailmaker, this giant sail combines performance, reliability, durability and ease of repair - essential qualities for intensive commercial operation. Its production required the expertise of more than twenty specialists and represented several hundred hours of work.
Weighing 1,733 lbs (786 kg) and incorporating more than 4,921' (1,500 m) of stitching, the mainsail illustrates the transfer of technologies developed for offshore racing to the emerging world of decarbonized maritime transport.
